The Hip Hop Culture Identity

Meek Mill - B Boy
Hip-hop is not only about music. Hip-hop is approximately dance, art, expression, pain, love, racism, sexism, broken families, hard times, overcoming adversity and the search for God. It is a culture, a way of life, a language, a way, a set of values, plus a unique perspective. Hip-hop is approximately trying to live out the American dream in the bottom up.

Hip-Hop culture is a unique phenomenon since it does incorporate and affect a wide variety of cultures, ages and classes. In the early 1970's the unnamed culture known today as "hip-hop" was forming in Ny City's ghettos. Each aspect in this culture had its very own history and terminology leading to the development of a cultural movement. The culture was identified in the early 1980's when DJ Afrika Bambaataa named the dynamic urban movement, "hip-hop." Ever since then "hip-hop" has served like a powerful voice and form of expression for young black audiences and possesses evolved into a culture having its own language, kind of dress and mindset. The rap culture envelops not only music but also fashion and dance.

Why is hip hop's evolution is the range of flavor the culture provides and what "hip-hop heads" thrive on is individuality and creativity, which can be never more apparent in comparison to hip-hop fashion. In fact, hiphop fashion is one of the top clothing industries nowadays. It is claimed to possess begun in the Black community but has spread quickly into as being a truly universal style for folks of all ethnicities and sexes and a lynch pin of hiphop culture. Hip hop fashion is desirable to various celebrities such as 50 cent, Puff Daddy, Ja Rule and Sean Combs. It is often satirized by comedians such as Ali G. Hip hop fashion is a visible element of rap culture.

Hip hop dancing has been evolving in many different directions today, heavily relying on the evolution of hiphop music and its popularity on television, surrounded by heated debates on background authenticity. Modern rap music gave birth to new styles of hip hop dancing partly inspired from the old school styles. Nearly all of those styles focused on upright dancing instead of breakdance which is better known for its floor-oriented movements. To state one's creative talent, hip-hop dancing is perhaps the best way in which impressions and expressions range from soul.

Music has always played a key role in shaping minds and attitudes. Hip hop music sheds light on contemporary politics, background and race. The social influence hip hop music has on the hiphop cultural movement includes activities of dancing, associated slang, fashion and other elements. Hip hop music encompasses the written word, visual art, dance and rhythmic style with intricate beats. Music doesn't have boundaries and no limits; anything worthy needs to be available through music, especially spirituality and religion. A large influence on the hip hop identity is its redeeming music.

Culture will be the product of a current reality. The identity of your culture is created from the work and thought of human beings. It is the expression of the class or element of a particular class and is reflective of a certain period. The allure of Hiphop culture as an organizing mechanism has arisen simply because there is no existing political apparatus that adequately addresses the requirements of young people and/or poor and class communities; inside a political vacuum. Culture, like a general matter, cuts towards the core of how people articulate their beliefs, values and customs. Hiphop culture is the most visible and vocal representative entity of its own identity.
